Go to the expert Your instructor has office hours usually posted on the syllabus. Take advantage of this service, by preparing your questions ahead of time and clearly explaining your difficulties to the instructor. A few minutes may make a huge difference. Your respectful manner will open many doors. Counseling Services Talk to a counselor if you think you have a learning difficulties, test anxiety or other anxieties, AND review your success plan. Counselors are also available for career decisions, and personal issues that get in the way of your success. Learning Resource Center Use the specialized tutoring services to get ahead on your learning. Tutoring-- It's easy to set up a session with a tutor who can show you ways to be more effeciant with your studying. Contact the staff in the Learning center to schedule an individual or group tutoring session. Math--Don't try to do math at home if you get stuck and can't continue...this causes frustration. Do all of your math assignments in the Math Lab where you can access immediate help. Sometimes a quick explanation is enough to allow you to continue with the assignment and finish! Study Groups--Group rooms are available around the campus and in the library. The Learning Resource Center can provide you with TIPS for starting a study group.
Disability Services If you think you might have a disability that affects your learning, contact the Disabilty Coordinator. You may qualify for accommodations if you have documentation for your disability which may include physical, psychological, or learning disabilties.
